Reform UK have just announced their candidate in the Makerfield by-election, where Manchester mayor Andy Burnham will also be running, as the Labour candidate.
Reform’s candidate will be Robert Kenyon, who was recently elected as a councillor to Wigan Council.
His candidacy was announced four days ago.
Curiously, just the day before he was busy scrubbing clean his Facebook account.

Wonder why…?
Well, perhaps we can help.
Two years ago, when he was the Reform candidate in the General Election, we reported that his Facebook friends included one Gary Raikes.

Mr Raikes is the leader of the New British Union, the present day incarnation of Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists.
We asked Nigel Farage at the time if he had anything to say about this curious friendship. But answer came there none.
Raikes has a formidable political background: he was the leader of the BNP in Scotland and stood for them in parliamentary elections.
Later, he was a leading member of Britain First.
He set up the New British Union in 2013 as a direct revival of Mosley’s British Union of Facists, declaring it was “restoring faith in fascism”.

Just the sort of person you (don’t) want as a friend…especially when you’re running for election to Parliament.
